Every April, the Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) helps lead communities throughout the country in their annual observances of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) by promoting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.
This year, Homicide Survivors Inc. will host virtual events throughout the week to honor those who lost their lives to homicide, while shedding light on the work we do to champion the rights of surviving family members.
On Saturday, April 25th, Homicide Survivors will host its annual Candlelight Vigil for Homicide Victims in observance of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. This year, HSI will live stream a Virtual Vigil from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m on the Homicide Survivors’ YouTube Channel, for Survivors all over the country to attend.
Please join us with a candle ready to light or anything you may have at home to honor your loved one at the end of the program. For questions email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Unsolved Homicide Cases will be shared throughout the day on our various social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), including blogs submitted by survivors and stories covered by local media.
If you are a survivor of an Unsolved Homicide and would like to have your loved one’s case featured, please email us at email@example.com.
