Every April, the Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) helps lead communities throughout the country in their annual observances of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) by promoting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.

This year, Homicide Survivors Inc. will host virtual events throughout the week to honor those who lost their lives to homicide, while shedding light on the work we do to champion the rights of surviving family members.

INSPIRE HOPE: VIRTUAL CANDLELIGHT VIGIL

SATURDAY, APRIL 25, 2020
7:00 - 8:00 P.M. MST

On Saturday, April 25th, Homicide Survivors will host its annual Candlelight Vigil for Homicide Victims in observance of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. This year, HSI will live stream a Virtual Vigil from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m on the Homicide Survivors’ YouTube Channel, for Survivors all over the country to attend.

We will have guest speakers, including Tucson Chief of Police, Chris Magnus, along with two survivors who will share their stories. The lighting of candles will be followed by a slideshow of the names homicide victims who lost their lives in the past year. The program will conclude with a memorial slideshow of photos submitted by Survivors and a musical performance. (The deadline to submit a photo for the slideshow has passed.)

Although we may be physically apart, it will be a powerful night of coming together virtually and in spirit to honor victims, crime victims’ rights and healing.

Please join us with a candle ready to light or anything you may have at home to honor your loved one at the end of the program. For questions email us at hsi@azhomicidesurvivors.org.
