Hope & Healing Workshops

Homicide Survivors organizes quarterly group events for survivors to bond with one another while engaging in the community. The first group gathering took place at Agua Caliente Park, where survivors gathered for a potluck. Following that event, Homicide Survivors coordinated a survivor gathering at Green Things, a local plant nursery, where survivors planted and created their very own terrariums.

Equine Therapy

Equine assisted therapy is an emerging form of therapeutic intervention in which horses are used as tools for survivors to gain self-understanding and emotional growth. Equine assisted therapy is a type of animal assisted therapy, a field of mental health that recognizes the importance of the bond between animals and humans and the potential for emotional healing that can occur when a relationship is formed between the two species.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga

The potent mind-body connection that yoga promotes provides a gateway to deep healing beneficial to recovery from trauma. Trauma sensitive yoga creates an environment where survivors have a chance to safely experiment with movement, breath work, and meditation as a vehicle for healing. The one-hour class is offered once a week.
